Rotary Club of Diliman fosters service above self with Globe partnership

In the hopes of being a light in the darkness, Rotary Club of Diliman partners with Globe in providing needed Prepaid WiFi kits to teachers in Quezon City for online education.

Educational institutions around the country are still struggling to adapt to the “new normal.” Students and even teachers are not fully equipped with an Internet connection or laptops required for distance learning. In the hopes of being a light in the darkness, the Rotary Club of Diliman has partnered with Globe in providing Prepaid WiFi kits to teachers in Quezon City needed for online education.

This partnership is another milestone project of the Rotary Club of Diliman, a non-profit organization, under the flagship leadership of its President, Renato “Rennie” S. Lampano. With the help of Globe, 60 units of Home Prepaid WiFi kits were donated, which include a WiFi modem and a LAN port, free 10GB of data allocation, and access to educational applications needed for the online teaching and learning process.

“Since one of the six (6) priority areas of focus of Rotary is to support education, the Rotary Club of Diliman has decided to extend assistance to the teachers of its two (2) adopted public schools in Quezon City, namely the Bago Bantay Elementary School and Krus Na Ligas High School by providing them 60 units of Globe At Home Prepaid WiFi. As such, the teachers shall now have a reliable internet signal while they conduct their online classes. Meanwhile, some of the teachers also have kids who may also be benefitted by the product,” shares Mr. Lampano.

The Rotary Club of Diliman envisions to be the “Liwanag sa Diliman.” Their mission is to continually abide by the Objective of Rotary, which is to encourage and foster the ideal of service which is above self; and to be guided by the Four Way Test of the things one says, thinks, or does.

#Recreate. The way we learn.
